Height
Does Make
a Difference
Nestled in the northern Highlands of Scotland, Glenmorangie has been crafting whisky since 1843.
The distillery is home to the tallest copper stills in Scotland – standing at over 8 meters, with necks reaching 5.14 meters high, about the height of a fully grown giraffe.
This height allows only the lightest and purest vapors to rise, resulting in a delicate, fruity and silky spirit — the ideal foundation for an elegant single malt.
Finishing What Others
Hadn’t Even Started
Glenmorangie was one of the first distilleries in the world to pioneer cask finishing – adding complexity and depth to its whisky. After an initial maturation in ex-bourbon casks, each expression undergoes a second aging phase in specially selected wine casks:
Lasanta is finished in Oloroso sherry casks, offering warm notes of cinnamon and toasted nuts.
Quinta Ruban gains richness and bold character from port casks, with hints of dark chocolate and cooling mint.
Nectar d’Or is finished in sweet dessert wine casks (primarily Sauternes), bringing aromas of French patisserie, honey, and citrus peel.

A Whisky Inspired by Coffee – and Crafted with Care
The idea behind Signet began with a cup of coffee. Dr. Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s Director of Whisky Creation, was enjoying his favorite Jamaican Blue Mountain brew when inspiration struck: What if a whisky could deliver the same warmth, depth, and refined bitterness?
Signet is built around Chocolate Malt – high-roast malted barley reminiscent of espresso beans, distilled just once a year in Glenmorangie’s tall stills. It’s then matured in a carefully selected combination of bourbon, sherry, and new charred oak casks. The result is a luxurious, velvety whisky with layers of dark cocoa, Italian espresso, caramel, and warming spice — a dram that begins like a good cup of coffee and lingers like a memory.
